We're going to be Parents!!!

Three weeks ago we wrote to you and said something along the lines of "... what we want and feel called to do with our lives. Which is to love people, disciple them, to be a Father and Mother, to care for the spiritually orphaned and bring them into THE FAMILY..."

That's exactly what we are starting to do here in Guatemala... here's how it all happened.

Towdah-ly Awesome!

   It's about to get real ladies and gents. The team here in Antigua is getting ready to enter in to a 72 hour time of worship and prayer. Below shows each 2 hour time slot and the person's name who will be occupying the prayer room during that time. Also in the picture are the 7 words used for worship or praise in the bible. Halal, yada, zamar, towdah, shabach, barak, and tehilla. If you feel led, please join us in prayer as we seek the Father's heart. The Invitation

 It's not always easy to define or even explain exactly what God is doing, or why I feel that 'tug' in my heart. Even in a moment when I think I finally understand what's happening or why, things change. And that's the thing about God, He is so much deeper, and wider, and more creative than I could ever fully comprehend. He is completely unpredictable. Yet, at the same time He is steady and unchanging, His character, that is. He is always loving and faithful. The words that He speaks will come to pass. When or how or why is fully unpredictable. Maybe that's why there's a 'tug' to know Him more, to possibly, for just a moment, understand how He loves.
A relentless pursuit. "Lord you say you have come to give me life to the fullest, and peace. You say that I am your daughter. You have given me a piece of yourself, your love, your Spirit, the very essence of who you are. You did that so I might be made complete, full of life and power." A relentless pursuit, that I might know the One who created me.

Life Among Volcanoes

Seriously. You can see three volcanoes from our yard, two of which are active one that is literally billowing clouds of smoke as I write this! So awesome. God will take you to amazing places when you yield to His leading, (spiritually, geographically, emotionally, physically, intellectually...etc. etc.).

Changing Perspective

I'm always torn when it comes to sharing stuff about marriage. I feel like its the kind of thing that people don't want to hear about, especially if it's a struggle, and if you are struggling with it, well then, that it's your own fault. So excuse me if I say too much. You've been for-warned. 

It was one of those days, you know, where you feel like you don't have the strength. All patience, grace, and love seemed to be running on empty. I'm sure we all can relate, especially those who are married. 

We Made It !!!

We made it! We have officially been in Guatemala since the 20th of January, so much thanks to all of you who supported us in getting down here. What an incredible time its been so far! The morning after we arrived  our whole Guatemala team (25 of us)  headed down to a retreat center in the town of San Juan on Lake Atitlan. We spent a week praying into what the Father wants for us individually, our team, and our time down here. We also had a lot of time to build relationships with one another and of course have some fun!

Today I Feel Brave

This is it!!! I am so excited!!! In about 15 hours I will begin the long anticipated journey south! I have been waiting for this moment for over a year now it's hard to believe its finally happening! Although there are still some uncertainties, such as length of stay and what-not, I have peace knowing that right now I am exactly where the Lord wants me. And taking this giant leap of faith, heading south once again, will be a wonderful wonderful decision. Whenever I follow that beckoning voice from God I know it's going to be good.

Get Your Feet Wet

I will never be able to wrap my mind around the way that God works, his intricate planning and creativity is more than I can comprehend!

We had one week left to meet our first financial deadline. Two days before the deadline and $2500 left to raise I was beginning to feel discouraged. I knew God said we were supposed to go but why wasn't he helping us? I figured our timing was off, maybe we weren't supposed to go in January, but I was sure that God had said January. In my heart I knew it would work out, it always does. 

On the last day we had every dollar accounted for! Why do I even bother doubting?!

Thank you SO much to all of you who felt the call to give to us, both in finances and your prayers! 

We are officially going to Guatemala!!
