We all know the story in Genesis 12 where God calls up Abram and says
"Pack your things, leave everything you've known for the last 75 years, and follow me somewhere..."
Following God's voice as He leads us into the unknown. It can be scary! To make a commitment to something before the provision for that thing is there!? That is crazy as far as the world is concerned. We have found ourselves in this situation once again. God said 'Go' we said 'Yes' and now we're like 'uhh....how?'.
But through obedience Abram trusted. And because of it we have the Abrahamic Covenant. That God would make him into a great nation, bear a son from his wife, his decedents would fill the earth, kings would come from him, that God would give them land and be their God. All pretty awesome and really important stuff! And as far a Abram was concerned pretty impossible since he was like a hundred years old.
But God is faithful, and He kept His promise.
I think usually the more specific the mission the easier it is to raise support for. If I said 'We're going to Guatemala for two weeks to build an orphanage!' that's something you can get on board with! It's precise and clear, you know what's gonna happen and when and how your money will be spent. It's easy!
It's harder to raise support when you have more of a Genesis 12 call, 'Go to a place that I show you'. People ask what will you be doing? Well I don't know exactly. Could be a lot of things! Seems sketchy. Well I know! Haha but what can I do about it!!? God forgot to mention all the details before He sent us!! Sorry?
We are going because we have chosen to live our life surrendered to God. We are going because we have decided to follow His voice. We are going because we're obedient, we believe, we trust Him.
But man we can't do it alone. We weren't meant to. I guess I just want to ask you to pray, I want to let Him tell you why it would be an amazing idea to support us!
We need to raise about $2500 by this Friday. Friday the 20th of December 2013.
Will you please help us meet this first deadline?
If you have any questions please feel free to email me anytime
Look forward to hearing from you,
God BLESS everyone, and MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)
